Curious how your clean beauty eyelash growth serum works? In this article, we will discuss the issues with chemical-based products, how a clean beauty serum works, and when to use it!
Long, thick eyelashes are sought-after by most women. But if you weren't naturally blessed with long and luxurious lashes, you may find yourself turning to the beauty industry for some help with enhancing your lashes. Mascara is a popular option, but it only goes so far, and unless you already have very dark eyelashes, it can be difficult to find a shade that looks natural and matches the rest of your hair. Eyelash extensions and false eyelashes are expensive, and the upkeep can be burdensome.
Enter a clean beauty eyelash growth serum! The best Eyelash serums promote natural lash growth, providing safe and long-term results for those who want darker, fuller, and thicker lashes without the need for messy and expensive enhancements. Eyelash growth serums are becoming increasingly popular as people look for more natural ways to enhance their eyes.
So, when should you use eyelash serum? Should you use it in the morning or at night? As part of your skincare routine or your makeup routine? How often should you use eyelash serum? We'll break down everything you need to know about when to use eyelash serum so you end up with stronger, healthy lashes.
What is Eyelash Serum?
Eyelash serum is a cosmetic product that is designed to help promote the growth of longer, thicker, and stronger eyelashes. The lash growth serum is applied directly to the base of the lash line in order to stimulate hair follicles and nourish the lashes from within. The serum also works to protect existing hairs while they grow and reduce the breakage of brittle lashes. It conditions and softens dry lashes and provides increased curl definition.
How Does Eyelash Serum Work?
Eyelash serum stimulates the hair follicles located at the base of the eyelashes. The formula includes active ingredients such as peptides, proteins, and vitamins that all help rejuvenate existing hairs and create new ones. With consistent use and daily application, eyelash serum not only helps with current lash growth but can also improve future growth. It is important to note that while eyelash serums are designed to prove quick and dramatic results, it takes time for them to take full effect. Patience is key when using this product! It’s well worth it.
LashLuxury uses herbal extracts and all-natural ingredients that work together to strengthen and lengthen your lashes.
-
Red Clover Extract: rich in biochanin A, a powerful phytonutrient that helps to prevent damage to cells
-
Peptides: amino acids that stimulate both collagen and keratin production, which are the building blocks of healthy, long lashes.
-
Provitamin B5 (Panthenol): hydrates, repairs, and strengthens weak eyelashes.
-
Aloe Leaf Juice: rich in antioxidants and strengthens connective tissues.
-
Cucumber Fruit Extract: naturally hydrates and soothes to help avoid irritation and revitalize stressed skin cells.
Prostaglandin vs. Peptide-Based Serums
Like the hair on your head, your eyelashes grow in phases. The eyelash growth cycle consists of three phases: the anagen phase (the growth phase), the catagen phase (the transition phase) and the telogen phase (the resting or shedding phase).
Prostaglandin-based serums disrupt the lash growth cycle by inducing the anagen phase. When you stop using these products, your lashes return to their natural growth cycle and may appear more sparse. Prostaglandin, which is common in some over-the-counter lash serums, has been linked to numerous negative side effects, including redness, itchiness, irritation, allergic reactions, and eye discoloration.
Serums that do not contain prostaglandin use peptides and vitamins to stimulate hair growth and strengthen the hair follicle in order to provide stronger, fuller lashes.
LashLuxury uses only clean beauty ingredients, and our non-irritating and naturally powerful proprietary blend of ingredients is safe for sensitive skin and for those who have contact lenses. The skin around your eyes is very delicate, and we believe you should take caution when using any products on or around your eyes. Be sure to check the ingredient list before using any new product on your lashes, and avoid using products that contain any ingredient with "prost" in the name.
Lash Serum for Eyebrows
While eyelash serums are designed to target the hair follicles along the eyelid, the serum can be used on eyebrows, too. The science behind the daily lash serum works to boost the fullness of your eyebrow hair, as well.
When to Apply Eyelash Serum
For the most effective results, you should apply your eyelash serum every day as part of your normal skincare routine. You should apply the product to a clean face that is free from makeup or mascara.
Is it better to apply eyelash serum in the morning or at night? The answer is completely up to you. As long as you are applying it to a clean face, it will be just as effective no matter what time of day you use it. Having said that, it is natural to rub our eyelashes at night so we would suggest a silk sleep mask to protect our lashes if you prefer night time application.
If you apply your lash serum in the morning, you should do it after washing your face but before applying any makeup. If you choose to use it as part of your nighttime routine, apply it after you've taken your makeup off. In either case, let the serum dry before applying any other products.
We recommend choosing a time that is convenient for you and fits into your regular routine so you don't forget to do it each day.
How to Apply Eyelash Serum
1. Clean Your Face and Lashes
Before applying your eyelash serum, gently cleanse your eyes and face with a mild cleanser. Use a microfiber cloth or washcloth to gently cleanse your lashes and remove any eye makeup that has accumulated during the day. If you use waterproof mascara, use an oil-free makeup remover with a cotton round to remove your eye makeup.
2. Apply Eyelash Serum
To apply your eyelash serum correctly, begin at the inner corner of your upper lash line and stroke outward along the full length of each lash line using the lash serum applicator. Your strokes should be gentle and consistent to ensure an even application from root to tip – do not concentrate too much on one particular area, as this could cause excess serum to build up.
3. Allow for Absorption
After applying the serum, it is important that you allow some time for it to absorb into the lashes before adding any additional products (like mascara) on top of it. We suggest allowing at least three minutes for absorption before continuing with your normal mascara routine or make up application.
4. Keep Up with Maintenance
Using an eyelash serum will give long-lasting results if used on a daily basis, so make sure that you make it part of your daily routine in order to maintain healthy and beautiful-looking lashes. Whether you decide to use it at night before bed or in the morning after cleansing and moisturizing your face, you'll begin to notice an increase in lash volume in as little as 2-3 weeks! Fully grown at 6 weeks.
